The investor’s main activity is the processing and production of packaging material. The WWTP was reconstructed to meet discharge limits into the Danube River in accordance with legislative requirements. In the past, there was just flotation unit and sedimentation tank. Hydrotech and its client decided to expand the system by adding aerobic and anaerobic treatment stages, including an IC (Internal Circulation) reactor. Excess aerobic sludge is continuously removed and reused as a material in packaging production.
Another by-product is biogas, produced in the anaerobic reactor, which has significant energy potential. The average biogas production is 4 100 m³ per day (approx. 117 GJ/d).
