Period of grape harvest and wine production is approaching – how shall the wastewater form such an industry be treated?
A project for a Czech wine producer was completed last month. It was the installation of a new highly loaded anaerobic reactor and a subsequent aerobic stage which are supported at the inlet by mechanical pre-treatment. Wastewater production is on average equal to a town with 20,000 inhabitants. A great advantage of this type of treatment is the production of biogas from pollution. The assembly had been already completed, several tanks of granulated anaerobic sludge have been brought in from various sources and the treatment plant is starting its active operation. The treated wastewater is discharged into the city sewer and it continues for further processing into a municipal wastewater treatment plant.
